Varsity Soccer vs Oakridge

For their second SPC matchup, Cistercian soccer faced off against the Oakridge Owls. Although both teams had come off wins to start their campaigns, the Owls had come easier, as opposed to the Hawk’s 1-0 nailbiter versus Trinity Valley. The first half storyline was dominated by our boys. Junior striker Danny Garda coolly put away a break away one on one. An impressive header by the opposition brought the scoring line even.  Within 15 minutes of each other, goals by Senior striker Connor Ryan and Junior midfielder Tommy Nealon demoralized the Owls, who resorted to some less than sportsmanship conduct. With 2 minutes remaining an unfortunate error by the defense resulted in an own goal. Cool heads prevailed however as the 3 goals in the first half propelled the Hawks to their second conference win, final score 3-2.
