The Hawks’ season began with a strong first quarter against the Oakridge Owls. After taking an early lead in the first half, a few mistakes led to turnovers and touchdowns letting Oakridge back in the game. A hard fought battle ended with Oakridge winning 34 – 23.

Coach Burke was not discouraged, noting that the team showed a lot of good things: the offensive line did a very good job blocking and Jack Albert was very effective running the ball. Emmanuel Adesanya said, “I’m sad we lost, but I had my first varsity touchdown.”
