The Hawks’ first home game was an exciting game against cross town rival St. Marks. It was an all-out fight to see who would end up on top. In the fourth quarter, Cistercian was up by 13 points, but key mistakes proved costly. A bad snap and some big offensive plays yielded a quick 14 points to the Lions and the Hawks lost by a heartbreaking final score of 34 – 33.

Mike Garnett said, “Despite the loss, I felt like we played harder than they did. It was still great to be with my teammates and play for Coach Burke.” Most of the Hawks felt the same way.
