After the Gateway victory, the Hawks had momentum going into the first conference game, with Jack Albert scoring a touchdown from long distance on the first offensive play. Unfortunately the defense couldn’t get the same fire going and Kinkaid built a large lead.

Jack Mackenzie explains it by saying, “We couldn’t put together a full game, the offense and defense showed great stuff but couldn’t combine and put a full game of great execution out there.” The Hawks picked it up in the second half, but couldn’t dig out of the hole they buried themselves in and lost 26 to 41.
